Mix It Up

Mix IT Up is an annual event focused on celebrating science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) at Western Washington University. Each year has a new theme with a base goal of showing the world that anyone can enjoy STEM and the people who are part of the STEM community are diverse and multifaceted.

Mix IT Up is an all-STEM event at WWU themed around inclusion in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, and aiming to challenge the stereotypical view of what "makes" a person in those fields. YOU are what the future of STEM looks like!

Humanizing STEM Series

STEM professionals as humans – who we are, our personal journey, the experiences that influenced our paths – are often hidden and eclipsed by the science we have uncovered and the work that we do. In this webinar event, we interview two panelists and feature the scientist behind the science, the mathematician behind the theorems, and the engineer behind the innovation. We will explore how personal identities (ex. race, gender, disability, neurodiversity, socioeconomic status) intersect with career journeys and how it influences sense of belonging.
