Nathan graduated from the Vehicle Research Institute in 1994 and started Quala Inc. in 1998. Quala Inc. is a consulting firm that specializes in confidential product development and prototyping consulting. Nathan was a model maker/machinist in the Korry Electronics model shop and then a contracted CNC prototype machinist in Microsoft’s Hardware Design group for 12 years (employed by Quala Inc.) before transitioning into consulting, staffing and recruiting in the product development industry. He sold Quala Inc. in 2017 and now heads up the model shop for the Google Hardware team, helping them develop their new Pixel phones, laptops, and Nest devices. During his time studying under Dr. Seal in the VRI, Nathan worked on the Viking XX solar car project as an electronics technician and driver while at the VRI, Formula SAE and worked at Lakewood as a sailing instructor while a member of the WWU Varsity Sailing team at Lakewood under the direction of Jeff Davis.
