Regina Barber DeGraaff, PhD
STEM Inclusion and Outreach Mission: To cultivate and maintain partnerships with faculty and inclusion programs locally & nationally that are devoted to the recruitment, retention and support of underrepresented students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Regina Barber DeGraaff teaches physics and astronomy at Western. Regina completed her PhD in Physics in 2011 from Washington State University with a focus in Astrophysics, studying globular cluster systems. She is also the first STEM Inclusion and Outreach Specialist at WWU with duties that involve planning campus wide events, student club support, advising, committee work and grant writing. Regina is also the host of the radio show & podcast Spark Science, a talk show which strives to make science accessible to all.
Community Hours - Bond Hall 425
STEM Outreach and Inclusion specialist Regina Barber DeGraaff hosts open community hours three times a week. Students, staff, and faculty are welcome to drop by Regina's office in Bond Hall 425 during these times to discuss any opportunities, concerns, or ideas they may have on how to create a more welcoming and supportive college.
