Testing Equipment

Mechanical Testing
This tensile tester is capable of exerting a force (by pushing or pulling) up to about  250 Kilo-Newtons ( roughly 55,000 pounds). It is a type of destructive method of testing. Students perform material strength tests and analyze properties of engineering materials including stress-strain relations and deformation mechanics.

Non-contact Ultrasound
A form of non-destructive testing, this machine uses ultra-sound waves to see inside composite materials for defects.
