Oscar Edwin Olson Scholarships – (4 @ $6,000)

Deadline is May 1, 2020

  • For an undergraduate student majoring in a CSE program
  • Based on overall academic merit and must be children of single, divorced or widowed parents (adoptive or biological)
    • Eligible students are those who at any time in their first 18 years either:
      • Lived with one unmarried parent
      • Had divorced parents
      • Had one or more deceased parents
  • Must demonstrate financial need through a FAFSA or WAFSA document
  • Students awarded the Olson Scholarship the previous academic year can receive it for a second year, but no more than 2 years

 

Marion Van Nostrand Scholarship – (multiple @ ~ $10,0001)

Rolling application deadline

  • For single, custodial parents with a dependent child
  • Majoring in a STEM field2
  • Must demonstrate financial need through a FAFSA or WAFSA document
  • Must be in good academic standing and making progress towards their degree with a minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Students awarded the Van Nostrand Scholarship can receive the award for the reminder of their academic career if they continue to meet the requirements

 

1Covers in-state tuition and fees plus $1,000

2Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering (ABET accredited programs only), Environmental Science, Geology, Mathematics, Physics/Astronomy, and CSE Science Education

  • Be a matriculated full-time WWU students (12+ credits) with at least one academic year (3 full quarters) remaining until anticipated graduation at the time of a scholarship award.
  • Be a major in a CSE program
  • Have been, at any time prior to age 18, the child of single, divorced or widowed parents.
  • Demonstrate financial need through a FAFSA or WAFSA document
