To request declaration of a Chemistry Minor, please complete the form below.
Your transcript will be evaluated.
- If approved, you will be contacted via email to complete the Official Declaration of Minor Form in the Chemistry Department Office.
- If denied, you will be notified via email.
- If you have not yet declared a major, you are not eligible to declare a Minor in Chemistry, as eligibility is largely determined by the student's declared major.
- If your declared major is listed, select your declared major and complete the upper division chemistry study plan grid.
- To select multiple majors, hold down the "CNTRL" key and click your additional selection(s).
- Majors listed as selections on the list are at risk of overlap and require a study plan for your upper division chemistry coursework.
- Complete the grid to submit your study plan.
- If you don't intend to enroll or apply a course to your minor, select "N/A."
- If you plan to apply a course to your major, select "To Major."
- Complete the grid to submit your study plan.
- If your declared major is not listed, you are not required to submit a study plan for your upper division chemistry coursework.
Chemistry Minor Catalog Requirements (Fall 2015 and later):

- CHEM 121 - General Chemistry I (CHEM 161 - as of Fall 2018)
- CHEM 122 - General Chemistry II (CHEM 162 - as of Fall 2018)
- CHEM 123 - General Chemistry III (CHEM 163 - as of Fall 2018)

- CHEM 125 - General Chemistry I, Honors (CHEM 175 - as of Fall 2018)
- CHEM 126 - General Chemistry II, Honors (CHEM 176 - as of Fall 2018)
- CHEM 225 - General Chemistry III, Honors
❑ 15 credits of upper-division chemistry courses

Up to 6 upper-division credits may overlap and be applied to both the chemistry minor and the student's major degree requirements.

Course credits may not be split to equal 6. Meaning, you may not apply CHEM 351 (4 credits) and 2 credits from CHEM 352 (which is a 4 credit course) to equal 6 credits, in the interest of avoiding overlap, additional course work, etc.
