RESEARCH CREDIT PERMISSION FORM

***Please read the below information very carefully.***

This request must be approved by your supervisor before any overrides will be issued.  

When you submit this form, a copy is automatically sent to your supervisor.  

Your supervisor will approve your request and send it to the Program Coordinator, who will then enter your override.

Please complete all required fields, select your desired courses and credits (where applicable) and submit for faculty supervisor approval.

Once approved, override(s) will be entered. You will be notified via e-mail once complete.

  1. You will receive a system generated email with confirmation of form submission immediately. If you do not receive the confirmation e-mail, please contact the Chemistry Department office by phone at 650-3070 or by e-mail at chemistry@wwu.edu.
  2. If additional information or clarification is required, you will receive an e-mail requesting said details.
  3. If you are issued an override, you will receive an email stating your override has been entered. This is your indication that you are clear to log on and register. Please be sure to enter the number of credits you are seeking if applicable.
  4. If denied registration, you will receive notification and further instruction via e-mail.
Enter your last name as it appears on your WWU student account.
Enter your first name as it appears on your WWU student account.
Enter your WWU student email address. Do not use outside email addresses. This form uses the information entered in this field to identify you to your faculty supervisor. If you enter an inaccurate or outside email address, it will fail.
Enter the WWU email address of the faculty member that is supervising your research. This person may also be referred to as the P.I., or Primary Investigator. Be sure this is accurate. This form uses the information entered in this field to notify your faculty supervisor that you are requesting an override. If you enter an inaccurate or outside email address, it will fail.
Enter the title of your project.
Repeatable up to a maximum of 3 quarters (up to 3 credits, each).
You may opt to pursue one, two, or three credits of independent research. Each "credit" of research equates to 3 hours of research work per week over the ten week period of the quarter. Thus, registering for one credit obligates you to 30 hours of work for the quarter, 2 credits to 60 hours, 3 credits to 90 hours.
